According to officials, strikes that targeted 12 areas in the Baalbek region resulted in the deaths of two children.
The ministry added that 58 people had been injured and that rescue efforts were still ongoing in the valley, which is a stronghold for Hezbollah.
The Israeli military has not yet provided a response.
Over the past five weeks, Israel has claimed to have targeted Hezbollah's operatives, infrastructure, and weapons with thousands of air strikes across Lebanon.
The governor of Baalbek, Bachie Khodr, described the incidents as the "most violent" since Israel escalated the conflict with Hezbollah a month ago.
Unconfirmed video posted via web-based entertainment showed harm to structures and backwoods burning, as heros looked for the harmed.
According to Lebanon's health ministry, Israeli air strikes on the coastal city of Tyre earlier on Monday left seven people dead and 17 injured. People were warned by Israel to leave the city's center.
Hezbollah claimed that on Monday, it engaged in fighting with Israeli troops near the southern border of Lebanon and launched rockets at an Israeli naval base near Haifa.
On October 8, 2023, the day after its ally Hamas launched a deadly attack on southern Israel, the armed Lebanese group Hezbollah began firing rockets into and around northern Israel in support of Palestinians. This precipitated the outbreak of cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
Since then, more than 12,400 people have been injured in Lebanon, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
On September 30, Israel launched a dramatic invasion of southern Lebanon with the stated goal of destroying Hezbollah infrastructure and weapons in "limited, localised, targeted raids."
According to the government of Lebanon, the conflict has caused up to 1.3 million people to be internally displaced.
